Acrylic Rendering
An acrylic render is any type of render that uses an acrylic agent, which is a type of plastic in the mixture. The acrylic makes the render a lot more stronger and more flexible than any traditional rendering mix. This means that it is less likely to crack once it has been applied. Acrylic render is easy to apply and it can be rolled, trowelled or even sprayed onto any surface. Two coats are normally applied. This can be applied using many different colours and finishes.

Bagging
Bagging, highlights any imperfections instead of hiding them. A bagged wall gives a rustic look and the pigments used are similar to those used in Tuscany. It is usually applied to a wall without much precision and it allows for irregularities, bumps and little imperfections.
Coarse-graded sand is used for bagging and fine one for rendering.
You can purchase coloured bagging render in various different colours. This is applied to a thickness of about 5mm. Standard rendering, on the other hand, is applied in layers if required, each layer between 10-15mm depending on the substrate conditions or degree of smoothness.

Cement Rendering
Cement render is made up of three components – lime, sand and cement. The purpose of the lime is to make the render more workable and it helps to minimize cracking. The sand should be clean and contain no clay or plant matter. Coarser sands are used for the undercoat, while fine sand is used for the top coat. Finally, general purpose blended cements complying with Australian standards are usually used. Lighter cement is used when the wall is to be a light colour.

White Setting
White setting is a fine powdered, off-white render that is mixed with water. It can be applied only on the internal walls by way of machinery or by hand, directly onto brick, concrete walls, blue board, and over many substrates. It can also be applied over plasterboard or gyprock.
White setting is best used over walls that have had a base render. It can be finished either semi-polished or polished to a mirror smooth finish. It also comes in various colours.
